Hi All, Let me add my voice to those expressing thanks to Bart for his nearly 8 years serving as Seesat-L's administrator. I subscribe to a number of international science-related mailing lists, and not one of them has been as professional, helpful and CIVIL as has Seesat-L. Given the tremendous range of experience-level represented by Seesat's over 600 members, one would expect that the opportunity for condescension, flame-wars, or just plain rudeness would arise from time to time (as it does in most "professional" lists). The fact that Seesat-L has never (to my recollection) been a victim of such behavior says a lot about the friendliness, ethics and professionalism of its members, as well as the benevolence and fairness of the "man at the helm". While I'm sorry to see Bart step down, I understand that personal and professional interests change and evolve with the passage of time, and I wish him all the joy and success in wherever his future interests take him. His choice of Ted Molczan as successor is an excellent and logical one. Indeed, before there was a Seesat-L, Ted's dial-up BBS site and Dave Ransom's were my primary means of staying in touch with other satellite observers, posting observations, exchanging software tools and acquiring TLEs. Welcome Ted! And Bart: next time you're in SoCal, we'll have to have a beer (or two, or three...) and relive some of those days from yesteryear. I have many fond memories of EUROSOM 2 in Edinburgh: we certainly did a good job spreading our business around to as many pubs as possible...! Cheers and Best Wishes, Rob ----------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe from SeeSat-L by sending a message with 'unsubscribe' in the SUBJECT to SeeSat-L-request@lists.satellite.eu.org http://www.satellite.eu.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
