It was launched but "lost" around the Kamchatea (spell) penninsula. This is sort of a repeat of the Planetary Societies solar sail. While the sail didnt deploy they looked for the payload and found nothing (although I dont think that it was recoverable...but might have that wrong). Did the payload "work"?
