Next message: zarya@ntlworld.com: "Re: 1st Shuttle launch obs for Europe"
The first time I saw a Shuttle and
its ET from the UK was 1983 Nov 28
when a work colleague and I watched Columbia about twenty minutes
after lift off on the STS-9 mission.
We were standing at a window of an
office building in Lincoln and saw it
pass to our north, above the towers of Lincoln Cathedral. Both were
very bright but the tank was the brighter, slightly lower and in front.
At the time, I reckoned it had passed
overhead of Perth, Scotland.
