As Igor Lissov posted earlier ... > > Word is that Koronas-F was successfully launched today from Plesetsk > by the Tsyklon-3 vehicle .... OIG has been issuing TLEs for ... 26873 (01-032A} CORONAS-F, 26874 (01-032B) SL-14 R/B, 26875 (01-032C} SL-14 deb, and, 26876 (01-032D} SL-14 deb All of these have good passes at my location this evening. Does anyone on SeeSat have any idea as to the brightness of (at least) the A and B objects? Is Koronas-F of similar size as Koronas 1 (23019 = 94-014A)? We observed the latter object several times from 1995 to 1998 at apparent magnitudes ranging from 2 to 6. Is the new "SL-14" R/B (26874 = 01-032B) similar to the old Koronas 1 R/B (23020 = 94-014B) which we've seen from 1996 to as recently as 08 July 2001 at apparent magnitudes ranging from 3 to 6 ? Thanks. Clear and dark skies!
