This is sent in responce to my request for thoughts on an event I reported but could not identify. The first responce was from Bjoem Gimie, who asked what prediction I used to derive at a predicted pass of Iridium 20 at 11:52UT on 07.11.01 at my location, as he showed no such pass. I used a predition from Heaven's Above, but I download them in advance in order to coordinate my viewing time, and the original download did show a predicted pass of I-20 at the time indicated. However, HA information was updated, and a predicted pass of I-20 is not on the list. This is indeed a lesson learned for me, and I will noe start using information no more than 2 weeks in advance. Due to the speed of the pass, I do not beleive it was any satellite, which brings me to the second responce from Matthew Fawcett. The distance traveled by the unknown object was about 1.0deg. Taking into account the speed alone, I would agree that it was a meteor. The manor in which it flared and faded threw me, but again, another lesson learned. Keep an open mind! Thank you both for your responces. They helped me alot. R. Morgan Carson City,Nv.
