hello all, as you might have noticed in the past months and by Tristan's mail, I haven't had much time for updating the PPAS and won't have to do so in the next months due to other priorities. Fortenately Bram Dorreman and Tristan Cools were found to take over this job. Thanks a lot for that guys ! As some data are still being transferred, I want to clarify some small things : Tristan Cools wrote: > Observing Program of the Belgian Working Group Satellites(BWGS) > --------------------------------------------------------------- > The program files include: > > -PPAS8 database: Over 50000 flash observations > -PPAS8-01 untill 03: updates to PPAS8 The new available update PPAS8-03 contains all PPAS observations with data preceding January 1, 2000. This update was used within the BWGS to prepare the report of 1999, which hasn't been made available on SeeSat-L yet. I hope to find some time for that in the next weeks. Some question-marked observers are not as unknown as one might think: > Observers > --------- > DD: ? > HL: ? > JTW: ? > PV: Patrick De Vreese Moen, Belgium > RMC: ? > SDL: ? > SJW: Sue Worden ? USA DD * Daniel Deak St Bonaventura, Quebec, Canada HL * Heikki Lampinen Finland JTW * Jonathan Wojack PDV * Patrick De Vreese Moen, Belgium RMC * Ralph McConahy Barstow, CA USA SDL * Stephen D Lalumondiere Torrance, CA USA SJW * Sue Worden (was SW) Austin, Texas USA > Sending in Observations and PPAS format > --------------------------------------- > Observations can be sent to: Bram Dorraman > Bremstraat 29 > 3930 BELGIUM The correct address of Bram is : Bram Dorreman, Bremstraat 29, 3930 Achel, Belgium In the past a lot of observations were received in no-format at all or in a format far from the PPAS format. This causes a lot of work to transfer them... So please use the PPAS format to make life easier for Bram and Tristan. > Please be sure to send us the observations in the correct PPAS format. > Here below you will find an example of the correct PPAS format: > > 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 > 123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345 > > 00- 3 B 00-01-31 21:26:12.6 JPH 167.3 0.2 10 16.73 F'F' u mag +2->inv > 96- 10 A 98-05-17 21:26:12.6 JPH 167.3 0.2 10 16.73 F'F' u mag +2->inv > 97- 34 C 98-06-16 2:51:53.5 WN 23.2 .4 24 0.97 FF, irr afterwards > yy-nnncc yy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.t OBS sss.t s.t nnn ss.ttt remarks thanks to all of you for sharing observations of flashing satellites during the last years and keep observing !
