I've posted a new version (1.2.9) of Element Manager. To review the changes look at: http://www.eoss.org/elementmanager/version.htm To download the latest version: http://www.eoss.org/elementmanager/download.htm A couple of days ago I posted 1.2.8. But I didn't make an announcement regarding its posting. So when you go over the new features and bug kills you might check that too if you haven't downloaded it. This new version incorporates a new control and so, requires another full download to acquire and install the necessary support files. Don't forget to uninstall your previous version and save a copy of your INI file in some folder other than the default EM folder (if you wish to continue to use it - don't forget to copy the INI file back to the EM folder). This new version should be welcome in the homes of those of you who create element sets. The checksum interface has been completely rewritten. I really did a poor job on this initially. I hope this update eliminates any confusion regarding checksum verification and fixing. This change should also remove any confusion for the "casual" user (is there such a person using EM) when dealing with checksums. I've also added the ability to specify a specific time for Element Manager to display a plot of a satellite on the Tracking screen as opposed to it's normal behavior of tracking in real-time. The details of this and other changes in this release are outlined on the Version page. There were numerous bugs found and fixed in the program. I have also received numerous bug reports recently that all turned out to be connected to my change over to VB6 Service Pack 3. If you are downloading this version and have not already done so, you should get the newest VB6 Runtime files. There's a link to them on the download page. I've received some complaints about removing the ability to save to hardcoded filenames that contained the epochday of the most recent element set. It's glossed over on the Main Screen web page, but, you can type in any filename that has three consecutive pound signs (#). For instance, in a file where the most recent satellite's elements were created for epoch day 197 you could specify "visible###.tle" as a filename in the save as file dialog box. Element manager will write out "visible197.tle". A tweak I recently incorporated, on the list of recently used filenames for saving files, EM retains the original "visible###.tle" name. So you can reuse it a few days later with fresher elements and a file with that new epochday will appear in the filename when the file is written to disk. 73 -- Rick
