I saw a shuttle OMS burn when the shuttle was in sunlight while it was
still dark where I was. When it started, it looked initially like a liquid
shooting out from the shuttle. It quickly formed a lit area about 20 deg on
either side of the shuttle extending perhaps a degree from the shuttle
before fading out (it was directly overhead perhaps 400 km high). When it
was complete, it quickly disappeared.
