Observations Friday Eve, July 24  (UT 25 July 1998 )

 05:05:38 UT   Appulse of Cosmos 1005 (10860) with Vega. Was at Mag 2
               in ophiuchus, then faded to 4/4.5 the rest of the way.

 05:08         Very bright unexpected southbound sat reached Mag 1
               before passing into shadow below/left of Aquila, region
               of Aquarius/Capricornus. The only matching object in
               Molczan file is MOS 1-B (20478).

 05:15:34      Cosmos 2322 r (23705) near culmination in Cygnus,
               Mag 3.

 05:29:20      Northbound satellite believed to be USA 32, appulse
               with Alberio. Was flashing at Mag 2 with sub-second
               period when emerging from shadow, then faded to mag 4.
 
                  my GPS tells me I'm at 37 deg 17.3' N.,
                    121 deg 59.2' west (San Jose, CA)
