Hi William,

The satellite you saw was the booster from the recently launched Molniya
3-49.
Its full name is Molniya 3-49 SL-6 R/B(1), INTL ID 1998-040B, Norad
#25380.
You had another pass from this satellite on Wednesday night at around
22:07 UT, culminating 45 degrees above the northwest, and you will have
about a 30-degree elevation pass (also NW) at around 22:03 Thursday
evening, though it will probably come earlier than this since decay is
fast
approaching. --Rob
