An hour-long search for the Titan 4 payload wasn't successful July 9.

Search for 1996 038A was made from 19:45 till 20:45 UTC on 09-Jul-1996
with the 8x30 binoculars. The elset was used

that promised pass N of Arcturus at approx. 19:49 UTC. The search in this
region at the time and along the possible passes in the next hour wasn't
successful. Twilight in the beginning and the sky wasn't much clear later.

At 21:02:07 UTC, 1996 038B passed 0.3 deg S of Mu Ser
(15 h 49.6 m; - 03 deg 26 min; 2000.0). Period of flashes was approx. 1 second.
