That does seem a bit surprising.  I  know I've sent welcome greetings to 
some who say they're new here.

I've also answered many public and private messages.  I'm sure many 
others here have done the same.  There are times I may skip a message 
figuring someone will have answered it already.  If you don't get an 
answer, ask again in a week, mentioning that there was no response yet.

As Bart said, I haven't found anyone here (except me maybe) that isn't 
nice and helpful in answering questions.
