Regarding Allen's point, the GOES East full hemisphere image for Jan 15
    for 1 day at http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/data/east/latest_eastirhem.gif

covers the region taken at 1745 UTC. No obvious trains, but does anyone
see a pixel that looks like a candidate? The visible image is awash in
    clouds and not promising.
