2010 started good with a very clear evening of January 1st. I observed GOCE
flaring mildly, Lacrosse 2 doing so very briefly too.

GOCE (09-013A) flared to +3 at about 17:32:58.0 UTC (Jan 1) with my location
nominally being 19.6 km from the theoretical flare path for the 67.5 degree
panel. Apparently, the flares do not become brighter when closer to the flare path.

    Lacrosse 2 (91-017A) showed a very brief +1 or so flare/glint at 17:56:58.4 UTC
(Jan 1). The glint had a duration of less than 0.5 seconds and was captured on
    photograph (URL will follow tomorrow).

Some HEO objects were photographed too: data from those will follow tomorrow.
