Not at all - I think you contributed to a small, but healthy, discussion that has probably run its course for the time being. One of the reasons I am a semi-lurker in Seesat it that I can learn from little debates like this one. Briefly back to the original topic - my reason for raising it was to point out that just about anyone can produce a light curve from an electronic image. And that includes scans of what were originally hard copy negatives, transparencies or prints.
