hi all, This evening was very clear (and a bit windy). I observed a fine flare from Lacrosse 4 (00-047A). Just before going into eclips in Taurus, it briefly flared to mag. +0.5 at about 18:53:00 +/- 1s UTC. The flare took only a few seconds. My camera opened almost at the peak of it: the image can be seen at: http://sattrackcam.blogspot.com/2007/01/lacrosse-4-flare-and-lacrosse-5.html Some 20 minutes earlier, I observed Lacrosse 5 (05-016A) doing its notorious "disappearance trick" again in Umi. It happened at 18:31:27 +/- 2 s UTC, some 1.5 minutes before eclipse entry. The camera was open while it happened, image at the same URL above. Before that, Lacrosse 5 was about mag. +1.5. Positions will follow later, after I have measured the images. - Marco ----- Dr Marco Langbroek - SatTrackCam Leiden, Cospar 4353 Leiden, the Netherlands. 52.15412 N, 4.49081 E (WGS84), +0 m ASL SatTrackCam: http://home.wanadoo.nl/marco.langbroek/satcam.html Station (b)log: http://sattrackcam.blogspot.com Atom RSS: http://sattrackcam.blogspot.com/atom.xml e-mail: sattrackcam@wanadoo.nl ----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
