Icesat from what I am aware, has a 5 year mission duration. So it's still working. They usually release the schedule, when the date the laser will be switched on gets closer. Just wait and info will appear at http://icesat.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/icesat_mission_event_table.htm Don't worry, if you miss this satellite, there be another satellite firing green laser beams at you:) It's called calipso, and schedule to be sent into space this year, at no early then Feb.
