Way back in 1960, the Transit 1B satellite was successfully despun
about a week after launch (note the catalogue number gap between C and
D below). Also released into orbit along with the main payload was a
dummy subsatellite to test the idea of piggyback launches. Altogether
    four objects were catalogued:

1960-003A 30 Thor AbleStar rocket body
    1960-003B 31 Transit 1B
    1960-003C 33 GRAB dummy subsatellite
    1960-003D 99 Transit 1B despin weight

My question is, since despin weights come in pairs, whatever happened
to the other despin weight? Is this another one of those NNA
    situations?
