    I  have had some difficulty with somewhat strange TLEs , but using Heavens
     Above predictions (shadow entry commencing 0856 UTC on 29 January  a pass
     last night did appear reasonably steady around mag 3.    I was going to 
     for another orbit before commenting one way or another, so your observation
     has been most helpful.  Either I was mistaken or as you say it has
     stabilised.   Still a nice one to observe.
     It appeared most unsteady on the earlier obs as it descended towards the
     horizon (optical illusion?) Weather permitting ( and it appears it might) I
     hope to observe further in the next few days, tonight's pass may be
     difficult as it will not be completely dark.
     Observers should note that for some reason the International designator is
     being omitted from TLEs, so you may need to input them manually, but even
     then they should be used with care.  It appears this may be causing 
     for Calsky.   Heavens Above predictions (although it still refers to it as
     UNK) appear to be OK judging by last night's pass but I will try to do more
     precise obs for the next passes if seen.
     To keep the record straight we are referring to 28505 2004-052-A
