Satspy on windows XP

Hey folks,
 
I've just got a new laptop with Windows XP, but am having problems with my
version of Satspy 4.03.  It keeps on coming up with an error message "Out of
Range", which I presume is to do with XP. Any ideas?
 
I've looked on satspy.com, but the author doesnt seem to be updating the
site, or offering any support ofr the program any more.
