    Hi Martin,

Just saw your request post. I may thus be too late to help, but if
not, I'll be happy to send you the program ORB-YEAR.EXE ver 4.8

All you need to extract nearly everything save actual launch date/site
& orbital data for each year is the ZIP format of the _current_ full
    OIG/GSFC Satellite Situation Report (SSR).

A companion program is also available to show the "calving" date window
(when item first appeared) of all debris objects.

Here are samples of just the summaries created for year 2000 & 2001.
Note year 2001 doesn't include the latest new launches published since
OIG/GSFC SSR 41.12 with total launch count of 26687 so far? Will be
    noted in next SSR report.

Each of the four (4) defined files created will list the NORAD number,
assigned name, Intl' launch ID (cospar) and decay date of objects for
    each year you select.

Following objects found in GSFC_41.12 for year 2000

8555 Total Objects Orbiting in 2000. 26117 items cataloged to date.

     1558 Primary payloads ( A )
     1039 Rocket bodies ( B ) and/or secondary payloads
631 All objects with unknown orbital status
     5327 C, D, ect... and Debris objects
17562 Objects decayed prior to 2000

    View P-ORBIT.00 (A,B objects), UNKNOWN.00, DECAY.00, DEBRIS.00 and
    SCREEN.00

Following objects found in GSFC_41.12 for year 2001

8962 Total Objects Orbiting in 2001. 26643 items cataloged to date.

     1606 Primary payloads ( A )
     1069 Rocket bodies ( B ) and/or secondary payloads
642 All objects with unknown orbital status
     5645 C, D, ect... and Debris objects
17681 Objects decayed prior to 2001

    View P-ORBIT.01 (A,B objects), UNKNOWN.01, DECAY.01, DEBRIS.01 and
    SCREEN.01

Note program needs a simple update each anniversary date of January 12th
due simply unknown number of launches for the remainder of the year. :)

Again, hope this may be of some help if not too late.
