It's a must-have for anyone interested in orbitology. > Anyone else read this book? I venture to guess that half this list owns this book... I've read it cover-to-cover, and frequently reference it. While it doesn't tell you everything you need to know in order to accurately propagate satellites (you definitely need Spacetrack Report #3), it DOES tell you a lot about how to solve particular orbitology problems (e.g. determining orbital elements from visual or radar observations). Another paperback book you should pick up (if you can find it) is Jean Meeus' _Astronomical Formulae for Calculators_. This contains all kinds of useful formulae for computing planetary positions, precession of the equinoxes, nutation, parallax, sidereal time, and conversions between various coordinate systems (geocentric, heliocentric, galactic, etc.) You might check Wilmann-Bell for a copy. --Rob P.S.
