Ron Lee, RGL, Lat = 38.9478, Long = -104.5614, Alt = 2073 m 00-082 B 01-01-03 05:04 RGL 262.3 1.0 47 5.58 Magnitude about 6.5 at a range of 5900 km. Standard mag = 3 This is a better estimate than the first one of two since I had more time to compare to surrounding stars. I observed this time with 7x50 binoculars since my first sighting suggested it would be possible as it approached perigee. The period of 5.58 sec is within the error bounds of my first obs of 5.57 sec. Is this standard magnitude brighter than usual for a typical upper stage rocket?
