Hello everyone,

Where I worked, back in the mid 1970's, I tracked a satellite daily known
only as "OPS 8180". I notice that the Satellite Situation Report lists two
satellites with this name that are still up:

 1972-076A 6212 US 97.3 98.6 633 623
 OPS 8180 (RADCAT) Launched (10/02/1972)

 1972-076B 6217 US 98.7 98.5 705 690
OPS 8180 (STP RADSAT) Launched (10/02/1972)

I've seen 72-76A (which has a standard mag of 4.7) but not 72-76B (mag 7.2).
Is 72-76B an actual satellite? What does "STP" stand for? I'd like to figure
out which one of these was the satellite that I used to track. Does anyone
know anything about these two?

Since this is somewhat off topic, reply directly to me. I might be able to
answer some questions that might help in deciding the answer.
