Iridium 30 Flare
Fri, 9 Jan 1998 18:12:18 -0700

Despite a high thin layer of clouds, enough for the moon to produce a halo
effect i was able to see the predicted flare of Iridium 30. It was bright
enough to light up the cloud cover so my best guess is it did come close to
the predicted -6 to -7 magnitude. If the viewing conditions had been better
it would have been spectacular. As an added bonus, 1 minute and 45 sec later
Iridium 27 came 'strobing' along. although only a few 'strobes' were seen.
