I saw my second Iridium 27 strobe-effect from my
house in Rome (+41.867, 12.617, Gmt+1) and I was
surprised by the intensity of flashes. Iridflare gave
me the following prediction:
1-7-98, 5h42m58s, Az 177.7, El 25.6, SunAngl -20.6,
FlrAng 1.59, Mag -0.1 .
The satellite made a South up-down transit, passing
East of Corvus. Due to some ground obstacles I saw
only three very short, consecutive flashes. The first
at 5h43m20s, and the following at 3 sec intervals.
All were considerably luminous, around -2, than the
one predicted (-0.1). The near star Spica (on the
upper left) was a good comparison.
Cheers, Franco.
