mdf@angoss.com (Matthew Francey) reminded me that most
newcomers in seesat-l haven't heard about NPOE, since
it was discussed several months ago.

NPOE (version 3.0) is Numerical Prediction of Orbital Events
by Richard Eagle. It does accurate integration, starting with
one elset and adjustable parameters for gravitational, one of
two atmospheric, luni-solar gravitation, and radiation pressure
models. Unfortunately, the drag terms are not estimated from
elsets, so you have to adjust them after several attempts, to
match two or more elsets, possibly also the Mean Motion.

NPOE can produce :
ORBITAL ELEMENTS DATA FILE
LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, and ALTITUDES DATA FILE
STATE VECTOR DATA FILE
SHADOW CONDITIONS DATA FILE
GROUND SITE-TO-SATELLITE VISIBILITY DATA FILE
THIRD BODY VISIBILITY DATA FILE
at regular time intervals, or every Nth orbital event
(node, perigee, latitude, longitude,... shadow? )
and graphs from this data.

NPOE is available at ftp://ftp.physics.ox.ac.uk/pub/sat/programs/ibmpc
