Designation letters are a frequent source of error in the Space-Track data but they usually get corrected very quickly.

There have been multiple occasions where objects have been tagged with the letters "I" and "O" in the designations followed by everything the getting shifted up the ladder to correct them.

Slips also happen in object names. The 2022-002 launch had MDASAT-1A and MDASAT-1C. Yesterday the missing satellite was added as MDASAT-18.

The safest option to ensure misunderstanding is to use the Catalogue Number.
