AAHHH! now i get it! select a point in the plane of the orbit of the satellite 
and follow that point... eventually the satellite will traverse that point again 
following the same plane... when a satellite crosses that point, track it for a 
bit to see if it is in the same plane... if not, return to the previous point 
and keep following it... this will work fine unless the satellite has made some 
moves to change planes... i get it, now...
