    Excellent point Marco...Chinese lanterns.
    
    I have dealt with quite a number of enquiries here , both local and UK wide..
    Have also been fortunate enough to see a couple and have to say they do give the impression of a slow moving small orange glow at a distance.
    Closer in they can change direction and speed dramatically.
    
    One of my contacts sent me this sighting..

    You can see how convincing this would be when seen at long range.
    
    There was a mass sighting in the Gatwick airport area some weeks ago.
