----- Reply ----- I have such an astrotent, bought it in the Netherlands (Robtics). I used it for a week in South-France last year, it is a light shelter. It will not be adequate for long rainy periods but will provide some protection from an occasional shower. During that week, one day a dust-devil passed right over the closed tent, ripped off the roof cover and caused damage to the plastic rings that support the poles and are also used to fix the tent to the ground (plastic = weak point), but no damage to the mount and telescope inside were done. I will use the tent again during an astro-holiday in a few weeks, repaired the damage but I will use an alternative way to fix the tent to the ground. I don't know how useful this product would be, but it does look interesting - so I thought I would pass the link on to all. http://www.sirius-optics.com.au:80/index11.htm The vendor is an Australian company - but presumably the product can be obtained in other countries? AU$299 is about US$250, EU200.
