I am reporting what seems to be at least 20 satellites within a degrees or so and moving with the same speed and direction. They were imaged with a CCD camera on 2007-02-14 at 17:24 UT (accurate to few minutes) from Karstula, Finland (62.878 N, 24.800 E). The objects were seen with two ccd-cameras through two lenses on the same mount, but not seen visually except on the computer screen while focusing the guiding ccd that triggered the observer to take series of 10 s exposures with the main camera. The observer then lost the targets. So there are only four trailed images within one minute of time: http://www.st-suunnittelu.fi/romu/ Here are some coordinates (start of the brighest trail): ----------------------------- UT RA (J2000) Dec ----------------------------- 17:23:47 04 07 42 +27 13 16 17:24:08 04 08 55 +27 23 37 17:24:30 04 10 11 +27 34 47 ----------------------------- Their speed (in relation to the stars) is roughly 40 arc seconds per second. Any idea that they are? br, arto -- Arto Oksanen arto.oksanen at jklsirius.fi Jyvaskylan Sirius ry, Kyllikinkatu 1, FI-40100 Jyväskylä,FINLAND Tel: +358-40-5659438 Fax: +358-14-4157803 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
