The recent video showing a slow moving object in near geo orbit has raised a question in my mind. As the unidentified bird is moving east , the orbit is a little lower than geostationary.....consequently I assume that rather than being in graveyard orbit , the satellite could well be moving to a new location , or positioning into its designated slot. In SeeSat message : RE: Graveyard Orbit From: Barker, Jefferson (JBARKER) (JBARKER@arinc.com) Date: Mon Jun 04 2001 - 13:35:21 PDT Jeff Barker indicates the preferred graveyard is 150 miles "higher" than the arc. So if the mystery bird was "dead" it would appear to be moving very slowly west when compared to a satellite on station. I'm not aware of any commercial satellite presently moving position , or moving to slot.....so could this be a classified object shuffling along the arc ?
