I should have included this in previous mail (and tidied it up -
adding SeeSat-L as recipient was an afterthought)

If I have the correct info for Superbird-A, the Sun is now 
close to its rotation axis, so the flash cone is very small,
and close to the Sun. Thus no visible flashes anywhere.
