An idea just came to me that I hope someone can elaborate about. That is,
light pollution is a worsening problem to say the least but what about
"satellite track pollution?" Is the addition of more and more reflective
objects into earth orbit causing any headaches with astronomers,
professional or otherwise, that are trying to captures images of an
    otherwise pristine sky?

With my luck I'd capture an (at the time unwanted) Iridium flare at the end
of a manually guided one hour exposure! :~)
