SeeSaters may be interested to note that the BBC Radio 4 Science
documentary "Leading Edge" at 21:00-21:30 UTC today, Thursday Feb 15,
concerns Mir and its de-orbit plans. According to the advance blurb,
"Geoff Watts takes a look at the Mir space station, and what will happen
when it falls to earth later this month. Debris is expected to shower
down on an area the size of Siberia, and the odds that someone will be
hit by a fragment are just over 100-1."
