I'm very sorry, but I have to correct myself. The two unidentified objects I saw on the 27th of February 2000 00.29 AM in Halle travelled not from W towards E, as I wrote, but from E towards W. I've returned to the site today with a compass after you all wrote that it would be unlikely that they travelled the other way round. I'm very sorry. But it remains that it was too late for a satellite to reflect the light of the sun and the two lights were too fast for (a) high flying satellite(s).
