My guess is that perhaps you are seeing two or more different sats entering and leaving the shadow (in different directions)at nearly the same location. I have seen two sats appear from virtually the the same point in the sky within a second of each other, my daughter (who is five) said "they both exploded out of the Moon!" which was nearby. I have seen as many as four naked-eye sats "in the air" at once, and as many as 20 in one evening. Hope this is helpful.
