Mir was leading Progress M-40 by 8 arcminutes (about 0.7 second) at
17:46 UTC as they dipped towards eclipse in the SE as seen from
Edinburgh. I just caught the end of a 35 deg altitude transit which had
been largely hidden by cloud. At a range of ~1200 km, Mir was about
magnitude 1 and Progress (& Znamya) about mag 3.5. No
flares/glints/whatever seen from Znamya during the <30 sec I followed
them (Yes, I know there is a snag with its deployment).
