TIPS sighting

At 0940 UT Feb 16th I had a chance to use Ron Dantowitz' Csat program
and tracked TIPS. What a sight!. It was one of the most beautiful sights
I have ever seen in a telescope.
The tether at 76x was so bright it took me by surprise. It had a
greenish hue, and straight as a gunbarrel. Ralph and Norton were like
two small stars at either end and very clearly seen. I had seen the
previous tether from the shuttle and remarked how beautiful it was, but
this has to be seen through a telescope to be believed.
I have noted in other communications that the tether has had a curve,
but this time it was straight. Perhaps due to it orientation to me. It
filled about 1/3rd the field of view of an 8" F10 scope with a 26mm
eyepiece.
Total cloud cover is back so I shall be silent, but listening, for some
time.
