    Hi all,

the GAIA* team made a tool to calculate the approximate position of the
GAIA satellite in the sky, on its way to its final destination at the
    Sun-Earth L2 point.
You can find it here: http://gaiainthesky.obspm.fr/fov/

Best chance of observing: Thursday (Dec 19) in the (local) evening, with
Europe having slightly more favorable conditions than the US.
