Cosatrak 1 (Computerised satellite Tracking System).
Camera mount now carries two systems that can be operated
together as two totally different sytems and computers used.
Generally the DSI Pro II camera will be used for high altitude
slow moving objects. Tests seem to indicate that its sensitivity
is comparable to the MINTRON ( possibly better) but as its not
possible (?) to time stamp to better than 1 second accuracy the
time resolution is not good enough for LEO objects.

(2)Meade DSI Pro II Monochrome CCD camera without filters.
using integration times of 20 sec min to 60 seconds maximum
depending on brightness of sky in particular area.No image
processing done but dark field applied.
Used with 200mm focal length f/2.8 Nikkon telephoto lens,
field of view 1.88 x 1.40 degrees. Can get to magnitude 13
or so in less than 20 seconds exposure.
Exposure time to nearest second inserted into image FITS header
from PC clock which is automatically checked every minute against
    GPS signal.

    Notes:
    ---------
    (1) This is the first sweep along the CLARKE belt for satellites with
inclination close to 0 degrees. Five unknown satellites were found
(one of them being another observation of 91132), the unknown
"identities" being 91132,91133,91134,91135 and 91136 ( last one still
to be reported). All satellites are geostationary unless otherwise
stated. In a few cases I may have identities wrong when there are
clusters of close satellites - eg the ASTRA groups but this is not
important to me in this case- since if there are say 5 satellites
in the group and I see 5 then Im happy. If I see more than expected
        then my ears pop up.

    (2) The magnitudes given are only approximate - in reality they could be
as much as 2 magnitudes fainter - the "magnitude scale" used by me is
purely for my own convenience and I take magnitude +13 is being the
        limit for the system used.

    (3) I have not included classified satellites found in this search-this
        will be reported tomorrow.

    (4) I still have 4 hours of DVD recording to go through which will cover
the LEO satellites seen. In addition I still have about 20 images to
go through of selected areas. Hopefully all tomorrow.

    (5) Meanwhile I plan to observe again tonight :-(((

    Cheers
    Greg
