Although this refers to an earth orbiting manned object I have labelled it
OT because it seems this capsule and its crew have never been observed in
orbit and predictions are that this will continue to be the case.
Those who have subscribed to the list for a while may recall some discussion
a few years ago concerning the characteristics of Santasat.
It is now official- in a recent email from KSC (and the email really does
exist!) KSC has advised that NASA has granted permission to Santa Claus to
access Kennedy Space Center's airspace on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.
The email is too long to quote fully here, however the following may be of
Among other things it refers to leaving the emergency landing systems
available so Santa can use it if needed and it states as follows:
"Although it has never been confirmed that Santa has made a pit stop at
Kennedy, a routine sweep of the runway to remove debris after the
holidays last year produced one ripped stocking, a broken toy truck
and what appeared to be reindeer tracks."
One can only hope that this debris does not indicate a destructive re-entry
or we have a serious problem.
Best wishes and clear skies for the season.
