I couldn't resolve them naked eye, but binoculars showed a beautiful
    magnificent brilliant 'double star'.

    This configuration .
                           .

I couldn't tell which was which.
At first the top one was much brighter, but as they reached culmination they
became equal and remained equal until fading into eclipse.
