With just a few weeks to go and not so many launches on the manifest, it
    looks like
2001 will be a record low year in launches.

    1999 2000 2001
      73 82 60?

After a steady increase in the early years, a level of around 120 launches a
    year was
reached in 1965/1966 with a maximum of 129 in 1984.
In 1990 the Sovjet-Union fell apart, which caused a steep decrease in 1991.
The launch of the Iridium and Globalstar satellites kept the rate a bite
    higher in the
    late 90's.

Will we reach 60 launches this year?

    Greetings and clear, dark skies
