I observed a spectacular pass of Iridium 45
this evening, right on time. The predicted mag was -7.1,
but this looked far brighter, around -8 plus. It passed
about 15 degrees east of Jupiter and appeared to temporarily merge
with Beta Ceti as seen with the naked eye.
