Hi folks:

I too acquired my TASCO x60mm first scope from the department store. The NZ$90 ( in
1979) bring me instant joy of seeing Saturn Ring, Jupiter belts, picked up the
triangle in a weather balloon miles away, resolved the bright double star 'pointer' to
Southern Cross. Nineteen years I still have this for keepsake even though I had
Celestron series of scope. So depend on your budget and how serious you think you want
to pursue of skywatching, the better choice (as someone earlier point out) could just
be a go-any-way and use everywhere - a pair on good binocular 7x50s or 10x50.
