The Delta II press site is next to the 30th Weather Squadron on the edge of
the base. You'll be about 4.9 miles from the pad. Also, be aware that
Vandenberg AFB is notorious for low clouds and fog. i  only go to the base
if the aviation weather forecast for the base is FEW or SKC (few clouds or
sky clear).

If the forecast is for low clouds at the base, the best viewing site is
Santa Ynez Peak, about 25
miles southeast of the pad.
