Haven't heard if > anyone saw it. I saw the Iridium flare here Tuesday morning, as well as a nice GRO pass, with interesting changes in brightness as it passed behind patches of thin clouds. I know of at least three other people who also saw the Iridium flare here that morning. I've started a small "flare watching" group locally, composed of non-obsessed :-) observers who nevertheless will make the effort to get outside and look for the especially interesting things. E.g., the flare from my north Austin location was easily mag -6, but one of the people in my group who lives in south Austin has reported max mag -2 for the same flare. I am, regrettably, far behind in massaging their observations into the standard format and reporting them. :( --Sue (worden@uts.cc.utexas.edu)
