Patrick Schmeer <extpasc@rz.uni-sb.de> reported :

KOCMOC 398 has decayed ... last night near Hawaii (3sat videotext,
1995 Dec. 11, 6h44m UTC). Good-bye, my old friend! I will miss you!
P.S. Last night I got the following updated elements from OIG:
......
1 04966U 71016A 95344.69514904 .14112176 13011-4 11508-3 0 1783
2 04966 51.3552 76.9050 002555 35.4339 324.8613 16.49944148852405
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought OIG didn't make anything new available over the weekend !?
How did you get these, Patrick ?

According to these elements, it should have passed SW USA at about 17:10 UTC,
as good as invisible SW of USA at 18:40, and NE of Hawaii at 20:10, which
is close to the decay time predicted by Pierre Neirinck, and what I can
extrapolate from Patrick Schmeer's elset. This was on Dec.10. At 06:44 UT
on Dec.11 it should have travelled Ireland-Turkey-S of Australia.
I assume the time given was the time the message was
added to (or read from) videotext ?
